The aim of the session was to present the key results of the report “Microfinance in Europe: Survey Report 2016-2017” released in December 2018.

This eighth edition of the report provides an overview of the European microfinance sector’s developments on the main institutional characteristics, microloan portfolio, social and financial performance, challenges and trends, and covers the period 2016-2017 through quantitative and qualitative data collected via online survey and expert interviews.
The report was jointly carried out by EMN and MFC and prepared by researchers of Social Innovation Teams (SIT) and Politecnico di Torino University.
