MFC Unveils Mapping Study at the Fintech Connect Launch Event in London

The Microfinance Centre presented the findings from its new fintech mapping study at the Fintech Connect Launch Event #FTC19LAUNCH in London on 3 July 2019. Study results were presented by Jean-Stephane Gourevitch, moderator of a panel discussion entitled “How fintech and innovation supports financial inclusion in the UK“.

Study findings show that startups and innovators see new opportunities, with a flurry of new startups addressing all segments of the financial inclusion market. Examples include:

  • banking services for immigrants and expatriates: e.g. Monese Bank;
  • business current accounts and digital admin assistant for SMEs: e.g. ANNA Money;
  • a solution to build credit history for first-time credit users and save or invest: e.g. LOQBOX;
  • a money management account making it easier to budget, manage bills and debts, and save: e.g. Harmoney.
