The new initiative – impaktEU aims to be a one-stop shop for smaller players as regards access to funding, technical assistance, grants etc. It will operate within the framework of the “InvestEU” programme set-up by the European Commission for the period 2021-2027 and will prioritize a maximum social impact on the ground while fostering a strong complementarity with existing European instruments (EC, EIF), as well as other public and private initiatives of the sector.
MFC and EMN issued a call for expression of interests from fund asset management companies to jointly set up the platform with the networks. We count very much on proposals from our Member MIVs.
We are seeking a management company already active in the financing of microfinance and social enterprises in Europe to support the design, set-up and management of a new investment platform targeting unmet demand, particularly small microfinance providers and social financial intermediaries in Europe.
More about ImpaktEU
- ImpaktEU is a new instrument designed to bridge microfinance market gaps through the combined strength of the EMN and MFC networks.
- ImpaktEU will be structurally sustainable, to allow the provision of long-term support to microfinance providers. It will act as an interface for public and private investors in microfinance, to serve the unmet demand and the specific needs of the smaller players. These needs may range from financial and non-financial support to operational know-how.
- ImpaktEU also aims at becoming the one-stop shop for these smaller players regarding access to funding, technical assistance, grants etc.
