Big THANK YOU and first impressions
7th Edition of the Borrow Wisely Campaign Has Started Right Now!
#BorrowWisely is kicking off in TWO WEEKS!
Check out: BWC in pandemic – Participating Institutions – BWC basics – BWC last year
October will be a month of wise borrowing for the seventh time already! The campaign is growing and evolving, but the key message stays the same – we are uniting to educate microfinance Clients. Under the auspices of the MFC and with great work and support from participating organizations, each year we are spreading the word about the power of wise loans.
You cannot miss it!
How #2020BWC will be organized in the times of the pandemic?
The current situation has inspired us to modify the campaign. Most of the BWC activities will be moved into the on-line space. The Borrow Wisely Team has prepared a dedicated communications guide to help you digitalize your activities.
For these institutions, which find the off-line actions more effective we also provide guidance and support. With all the health and security measures, your Borrow Wisely Campaign fairs, workshops and trainings will be a success – as usual.
No matter if your institution decides to go on-line, stay off-line or combine both approaches, MFC is here to support you. This year we will launch also a group aiming at sharing good practices, experiences and preparing recommendations.

Just to remind you what is BWC all about..
Borrow Wisely! is an annual international campaign promoting global client protection standards through borrowers education. Just like the previous years, MFC and partner organisations will be delivering key messages about how to borrow money safely, harnessing the positive power of loans and avoiding the pitfalls of too much debt. How was BWC 2019?
Client’s workshops and fairs, along with one-on-one meetings for borrowers organized at the MFI’s branches; educational materials distributed through on-line channels : websites and social media; many kinds of different events limited only by MFI’s/Associations’ imagination – that is how Borrow Wisely Campaign (BWC) participants reached out to their Clients.
And what do Clients say themselves?
I attended the “Skills Camp” in Thessaloniki which was held by the “Women on Top” Organization past October, and more precisely, the microSTARS workshop about funding tools, which was very interesting, offering practical information. The Health Check quiz was a “food for thought” exercise that enabled us to start thinking about potential mistakes of our economic/financial management.
